PUBLIC PROJECTS

Sunol Valley Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project
Client:
San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC)
Project Description: Design a new water treatment plant and 346-foot diameter treated water storage reservoir. The project was one of the largest and most complex undertaken by SFPUC in several years.

Geotechnical studies performed addressing issues related to Faulting, Groundwater, Earthwork requirements, Slope stability, Liquefaction, Corrosion potential of pipes, Pavement design, and Foundation design.

Walnut Creek-San Ramon Valley Tunnel/Pipeline
Client: East Bay Municipal Utility District
Project Description: As part of EBMUD's San Ramon Valley Water Master Plan, which extends from Walnut Creek to Stone Valley Road in Danville, a new 69-inch diameter water pipeline is planned to extend between Danville Pumping Plant and an existing 84-inch diameter pipeline under North California Boulevard near the Walnut Creek BART station.

A final geotechnical study was performed to develop design recommendations.  The final report included geologic and geotechnical conclusions and recommendations related to tunnel design, trench design, geoseismic hazards, seismic design parameters, earthwork, and dewatering. The conclusions and recommendations presented in the report were based on the extensive drilling and laboratory testing performed specifically for this project during the study to provide refinement for geotechnical conclusions and recommendations.
